The MSORSM Awards is introduced in 2018 and the councils in Charge are Assoc Professor Noraida, Prof Dr Razamin Ramli and Assoc Professor Dr Syariza Abdul Rahman. In earlier discussions, two categories or awards are proposed, for both academics and industries. However, due to complexity, it is agreed to award the academic works only.
The MSORSM Research Award 2018 is to honour outstanding thesis/dissertation/project with significant contributions to the field of management science and operations research. Nominations were opened from 15th November 2018 to 31st December 2018 for thesis/dissertation/project report that was produced and approved by the university’s senate between January 2017 and September 2018.
For the current award, 12 nominations were received from the public institute of higher learning in Malaysia. Nominees that abided by the general and specific criteria as outlined in the Award Brochure were considered for evaluation by the professional panel consisting of council members and non-council members from the academia and industry.
The award recipients were selected from the best short-listed candidates for each category (if available) by the professional panel consisting of council members from the academia and industry.
