🏆 APORS YOUNG RESEARCHER BEST PAPER AWARD 2026
The Association of Asia-Pacific Operational Research Societies (APORS) is pleased to invite nominations for the APORS Young Researcher Best Paper Award 2026.
This award recognises young scholars for outstanding research in Operations Research and related areas, including both theoretical and applied contributions.
🎯 AWARD CATEGORIES 2026
1️⃣ Theoretical Research Award
For excellence in theoretical contributions to Operations Research.
2️⃣ Applied Practice Award
For impactful applications of Operations Research in real-world practice.
3️⃣ Collaborative Progress Award
For collaborative achievements involving multiple APORS member societies.
🌏 OBJECTIVE OF THE AWARD
The award aims to promote academic recognition, research exchange and collaboration among young Operations Research researchers in the Asia-Pacific region.
It also provides an important platform for emerging scholars to present their latest research achievements, strengthen academic networks and encourage meaningful collaboration across APORS member societies.
📌 EVENT DETAILS
The awards will be conferred during the APORS Youth Forum 2026, co-organised by APORS and the Operational Research Society of Singapore (ORSS) in November 2026.

📌 GUIDELINES AND ELIGIBILITY
The Association of Asia-Pacific Operational Research Societies (APORS) invites nominations for the APORS Young Researcher Best Paper Award 2026.
This award recognises outstanding research papers by young researchers in Operational Research and related areas.
🎯 AWARD CATEGORIES
A maximum of three papers will be awarded as APORS Young Researcher Best Papers under the following categories:
1️⃣ Theoretical and Computational Research
2️⃣ Practical Application
3️⃣ Collaborative Research
For papers co-authored by individuals from at least two different APORS member societies, to promote collaboration among APORS members.
In addition, a maximum of three papers may also be awarded as APORS Young Researcher Best Papers Runner Up.
👩🎓👨🎓 ELIGIBILITY
The award is open to young researchers aged 40 or under, born after 30 July 1986.
Eligible papers must be published in peer-reviewed journals within the specified period.
For the APORS Young Researcher Best Paper Award 2026, eligible papers are those published in 2023 and 2024.
At least the nominee must be a qualified young member of an APORS member society.
🗣️ PRESENTATION REQUIREMENT
Nominated candidates are required to present their related research work at the APORS Triennial Conference or the APORS Youth Forum.
Failure to attend may result in ineligibility for the award, except in exceptional circumstances as determined by the APORS Officers.
🎖️ AWARD RECOGNITION
Each awardee will receive a certificate of recognition.
Prize winners will also be invited to extend their award-winning papers and publish their monographs through Springer.
This is a valuable academic opportunity to disseminate research to a wider audience and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in Operational Research.
📝 APPLICATION AND NOMINATION
All applications must be submitted by the nominating society, namely MSORSM, to the APORS President via email by the stated deadline.
Candidate papers must be formally nominated by an APORS member society.
Each member society may nominate a maximum of twelve papers, with up to four papers for each category.
